Being honest is a lifestyle. Telling a friend on the phone that you can’t come because you’re sick when you’re not is unnecessary. You can tell people the truth, that you’re tired and not feeling it today. Being honest mostly is easy but sometimes it is very very uncomfortable and that’s where you prove your character. Telling people uncomfortable truths is always better than a lie. The truth always leads you down the road that is right, even if it hurts or is uncomfortable or it has consequences of some sort. People deserve the truth and you deserve to have a clean conscience. I’m not saying you can never make mistakes or must always be perfectly ethical morally speaking, all I am saying is: be honest.
